Slice of Life by Bertram Sluys

Bertram Sluys founded Slice of Life in 2004 to go where the people are to bring music and drama with a purpose.  He has been involved with Senior Sing A-long since 2005, going into senior centers and nursing homes to bring encouragement and hope.  Normally he sets a keyboard up in front of the residents and sings and plays familiar old popular songs and traditional hymns.  He also includes some songs he has written.  Many of these are interactive, with simple words, teaching the chorus and asking for the next verse. 10 – 12 minute one person dramas are also available should the leadership ask for one.  Some of the more popular themes for programs include patriotic, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Lent, St. Patrick’s Day, Mothers Day, romance, seasons, travel, western and Dutch heritage.
